Greetings all,
Just purchased my first detector and should have it within the week.Dont know much about it as i have never done it It,s a Whites Classic Sl 800 bluemax coil. I would like to hear your thoughts on this model for a newbie? Thanks to all and im lookin forward to posting about my first find

If it is what I think it is, it has no LCD readout and is a classic beep and dig detector...Start out with all settings at their factory preset markings (the triangles on the dials), and dig all good signals...take time to get your swing down, it should take roughly 2 seconds to swing the coil from full left, to full right....Make sure you do not raise the coil at the end of your swings (UFOing)...In time, you will learn what good targets sound like, and what bad ones sound like too...The old classics are great for relic and coin hunting, as they go deep when used properly...
