Can't get good sound volume

I have the Explorer XS with the Sun Ray stand that allows you use of large jack headphones. I bought the Grey Ghost headphones. Even with the headphone volume all the way up, I still can't get
what I consider loud enough volume. Explorer volume is set at max also. Anyone have the same problem????

I think there is a resistor or something in the headphones you either clip or bypass. May be someone else can give ya more info.

on mine with all my gray ghost max volume is just a hair too loud for me.. How is the volume without the headphones or with the originals? maybe a short in the headphone jack or adapter?
