Cannot seem to find a comfortable way to adjust coil position

I have the Deus for about 5 weeks or so and getting to know it more and more and hoping to make some goods finds with it. One of my problems is that I can't seem to find a comfortable position for the coil to be parallel with the ground. I am using the 11" coil.I try adjusting the shaft to different lengths and adjusting the coil but it either seems like the coil is at my toes or I am reaching out to get it right. I am wondering if any of you are having the same problem? I wonder if having the shaft not in the center of the coil is part of the problem?
I see that there is a straight shaft available but I sure don't want to spend 200 bucks for it only to have the same problem.
Anyway, if any of you have any input on this I would appreciate it.
Thanks and GL & HH

Not been a problem for me. :detecting:

No problem here....

Set the coil on ground stand holding shaft and adjust till your comfy, try that....

You just set shaft length to suit snug up coil bolt & nut and set coil to be parallel to ground. Rough terrain makes it a bit tougher but the same can be said of all machines... When you get it set where you like make a note of what numbered line is indicated on lower shaft for future reference helps .

Thanks guys. I have been using metal detectors for years and know all the ways to adjust for shaft length and coil placement on the ground but this one just doesn't work for me like all my other detectors have.

Most detectors have a "digital" adjustment on the shaft every 1 to 1-1/2 inches.
The Deus has an "analog" adjustment (infinitely variable) on its shaft and you can't find a placement that works?
What am I missing here?

Agreed, I made a notch on mine.

Its easiest machine by far to adjust for your swing. Most detectors have a fixed amount of positions to set. The Deus you can nearly tailor it to suit your body. How tall are you? Just mark on the lower shaft with a sharpie when you find your sweet spot. So it is the same everytime

I know that it would seem like any other detector but I still seem to be having a problem with it. I have a CTX3030 and have had an eTrac and I had no problem getting things adjusted with either or them. on the CTX I have had it the same way for two years and it is perfect in shaft length and coil angle to be parallel with the ground all day long, every time I use it. but the XP doesn't seem to be comfortable no matter what I do. I still think it is because the coil is not connected in the center. BUt anyway, thanks for all the help and I will come to terms with it sooner or later.

If you can, try a 9" coil, they are mounted in the center.-----If it suits you better, that's your answer.--------Also--isn't there a mounting adapter for this 11" coil that makes it so this coil can be fastened in the center?----If so, you might try that.-------I'm new to the Deus--just trying to offer a couple of suggestions.

Thanks D&P... I do not know of any adapter to mount the coil in the center but I will ask Andy or Bart...

There is a center mount adapter for that 11 X 13" coil (I think XP makes them)--not sure if it would work on the 11" though--it might.------It's worth asking to find out.--------Del-----------I just looked in Andys Deus Handbook & it shows that adapter on page 167.-----It's not produced by XP but has been approved by Alain & team.----As I said, don't know if it would work on the 11" coil but it would surely be worth checking on.

Although the unit weighs next to nothing.
All the weight is in front, this and the 11" coil makes for more tension in your wrist. The big coil has the same problem.

When you're hunting iron or junk infested area's no problem,... but when covering large expances such as parks or beaches it can get annoying.
For large area's and 11" coils it needs a straight shaft setup, with a decent armcup that grips your lower arm and pistol grip so your wrist isn't at that akward angle.

With the whole setup being wireless, pretty easy to get wright.

The large coil is the best recent drop beach hunting coil I've ever laid my hands on!
