Ok, so it is a small one. This and the lead ball came from a suspected Civil War training site. Would like info if any one has seen one before.Would like to thank TOMB for his help.And to everyone here HH! One more thing , the cannon is brass and was about 10" deep
 
It's probably just a toy but, nevertheless still a good find.
 
The smile on Smitty's face as he walked up and said "I found a cannon" exemplifies the thrill of this hobby. You got to love it.
As I told Smitty I suspect the small brass cannon was used as a training aid at a "Camp of Instruction" in Virginia during the Civil War. Hoping that someone out there can provide additional information and confirm my suspicion. Great fine Smitty(that's my pard) TomB
