Cannon Ball??

I dug this iron ball while searching in a very old part of Denton TX. It's diameter is approx 2.5" and it weighs almost exactly 2lbs. I look around on-line a little and think it may be a falconette ball. What do the experts think? I found this small flat iron in the same area. It is very small as well. I told my wife that it was a travel iron. She said I was cracking up!

Ok, I had to go to the internet to find out what a sad iron was. Thanks for that bit of info. For anyone else wondering Sad is variation of an old word meaning "solid".
