Canadian Silver coins

there was a fellow here in CA, in the late 1970s, who took a simple vlf/tr (depth probably topped out at 5" when in disc.) to Canada. The hobby hadn't taken off there yet. And because silver had circulated several years longer than in the USA (had only been out of circulation 10 yrs. by then), he said that every single road side rest stop was silver everywhere . I'm sure those days are long gone now, doh!
