Canadian Large Cent, Quarter, V, Buffs

Well-known member
I got some coin hunting in between home improvement and made a few finds.
Finds are from a few MN city parks and one school.
Canadian Large Cent is 1917. 1964 Quarter was only 4 inches deep.
Nickels are 1907,1917,1925,1937,1944.
Wheat pennies are back to 1911.

I see you got some more nice ones. WTG

Someday I'm going to figure out how to find those nickels, but I don't know when, lol.

Congrats on the oldies once again.....really nice Canadian LC!!!!

Yeah Mark....with most the high tones on the public being slim nowdays a guy really should chase the nickels as many don't bother with them because of the tabs, etc. I don't hunt gold jewelry but have stumbled onto 4 gold rings since I got the etrac and only because I was chasing a nickel type signal. Think my favorite coin to dig is a V nickel? I'm heading into the big city next week for some medical bs and as much as I HATE hunting there, I'll suck it up and hunt (if it don't rain...like it's supposed to) and if things go well I'll do an overnight as I'm hurting for old coins this year. Gonna focus on nickels this next trip into the big city. The more you dig them...the easier they come...........

Yes, like oneguy mentions hitting those nickel signals is all about repetition of digging low tones and getting that tone engrained in your head so you recognize it.
A lot of people might not realize once you get that low tone down nickels are good indicators like wheat pennies and can help you get silver and other coins that is in the same area.
I definitely dig my share of beaver tails at some sights.
