Canadian Coins

Well it seems like the V3i is ok with the Canadian clad except the nickle and the quarter. Way too much steel.

I found some good info on Wiki with the metal composition:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickel_%28Canadian_coin%29

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_quarter

They are almost exactly the same except for size.

You can check out all the coins on Wiki, some great info.

What's the best way to include these two coins? They are coming up in the neg. VDI's with iron.

That is no problem for the V3i. Pass the coins across the coil and read what VDI's they display and accept those VDI's. Then you can change the audio on those VDI's to what ever you want to hear.

Hi there Gabby!

Try using single frequency...22.5 KHz.....????????

It depends just how thick the cladding layer is.....Tex

May want to accept vdi's 2-3 above and 2-3 below - to enhance audio/response - gl and hh!!

The 22 Khz seems to be a good solution.
Thanks Tex.
I'm going to have to try it out more but it works well on my test plot. The VDI's are coming in where the coins should respond, and it's a very simple and quick fix.
And if a person wants to quickly go back to the 3 freq's it is only a couple of key clicks away.
I'll keep ya posted.
