Canadian coins

Air tested a canadian 1970's qtr and dime..

both were reading flat at 7.5 range without a problem but would not read on edge and i was almost rubbing them on the coil.

all the us coins i tried had no issues on edge

I have read about others having issues with Canadian coins on different detectors too. Probably they have a compsition that IDs them in the disced out area.

Try to use the full potential of the Vision for us. Make a program out of your favorite and make sure the coins hit outside the disced area and try to address some high pitch tones to those ID nrs...

Then you should be able to hear them as loud as a silver coin:biggrin: if I think correctly....

Give the Hi Pro program a test run Greg. The discrimination pattern is pretty wide open and tweaked almost to perfection, for me anyway. Canadian coins should not be a problem and incredible depth right out of the box.

Canadian coins have a high percentage of steel since 1969 or so.

Thanks for the info larry, going to put the vco on and try that program in my favorite trash lot..
