:canadaflag:Years first snow dig a tad lippy and a slippery

Seems like a month since the last time Navy Davy and I managed to hook up and go a digging. We headed towards Windsor and stopped at a park just as a light snow began to fall. Undaunted by the white stuff we swung our way to the back side of the park to a chorus of cows making the sounds that cows make. Targets were few and far between. The snow intensified sticking to our machines making them feel at least twice the weight. Mud. That too managed to stick to everything. By the time ND and I each dug our targets, not near a quota we were at least 20 pounds heavier with all the water from the wet snow being absorbed into our clothing.

Navy Davy with his great foresight decided that he would take the old highway back instead of the 100 series highway. Halfway back we saw a car in the ditch and Navy Davy checked to see if the guy was okay....was indeed as he was laughing(at least till he gets the towing bill) on his cell phone. Road conditions with the snow were dangerous to say the least but as we entered Mount Uniacke...the snow was replaced by rain.

Once ND deposited me home I cleaned up and headed to the grocery store. We had been talking about stew on the way home...had to make some with the aid of ND's secret ingredients! ND phoned saying that the 100 series highway had been closed down due to a car on it's roof. He also added that he sent me an email with a photo of his finds.....not a computer person so here goes...from email to the forum...I hope!

So much for that idea(and affront to my computer skills as well) and if anyone can help me on this computer photo thing it would be appreciated. Photo shows a dog tag from Amherst and about a dozen coins.

Doing what I know how to do I downloaded to photobucket with my lip smacking finds of two lip stick tubes, dog tag, keys and a few coins.

Now its time to put my Pro in the shower and wash the mud off while at the same time getting Hunny Bunny a tad agitated for messing up the shower. AHHHHHHHHHHH the life of a digaholic!

You may not have made quota, but enough to ease the "digaholic" pressure a little bit. Well, maybe? Good show, non the less. HH jim tn

That file was from his personal computer, and can't be accessed.file. Nice to see out challenging the elements. Coins are coins no matter how many you find!

At least you got out, and like Jim said...maybe eased the pressure a bit. I know it's building inside me, lol. My digging time has been severely limited here lately.

I got out for the first time in a week at my local church and only found iron bits while looking for a survey marker, which I didn't find. Really enjoyed first the 2500 with the 12 inch coil which wore me out and then the At/Pro with the 5 X 8. The At/Pro definitely has issues and I will send it back, but only after they let the water up at the river. If the iron audio is working backwards, then that might explain why I'm not getting the separation of targets I got before the first repair. If you press the iron audio button and it shows on the console, it doesn't work. Press it and it goes off and then you hear the iron. Anybody else have problems like this after a repair?
I agree with John, a coin is a coin and when you don't find anything but iron, you apreciatte a coin or two, even a penny....HH.

Nice to see you out. And it was amusing to see that I'm not the only one to get hell for messing up a shower. I tried scrubbing an old axe head find that was soaking in vinager, with a brass wire brush in the shower. The warden was less than impressed with the end result.

Good work! You take one of those plastic shopping bags Marie brings home her groceries in and bag your coil...it keeps the snow from sticking to it...what else can a guy do? A fellow has to swing coil!...as far as washing off finds in the sink, shower, or tub and making a mess, well, who wears the pants here anyway?

I found 1 penny and a nickel yesterday, but lost the nickel. It may be in Mama's car, tho and I haven't looked. Found a Jerry Clower CD titled, "peaches and possums". found a boat propeller also. The guy next to the park I detect in had told me about it earlier in the year and I threw it by the seawall at his lot. If I get down that way again this week, I'll see if he's home and tell him about it because they give him their phone number when they lost it near the boat landing. Almost forgot I was using the GTI-2500 without the limbsaver sling and nearly dumped it in the shallow water. Weak minded, but good hearted I suppose. Lots of trash at this location and I plan to take a couple large garbage bags and do a clean up this weekend. My way of giving something back to a spot that's given me so much. HH
