Now I'll have enough to repair all my Garretts. Of course all Canadians can take this pension at age 60 or wait for 5% per year for the next five to be added...might be broken down by then!
Wife on the other hand a tad...offbeat. Bottle of Crown Royal, box of Jamician Blue Mtn coffee and...........

Got my Social security 5 years ago, and a nice Veterans Disability award also, I can live pretty nice on the $4300.00 a month I get. Grubstake

Congrats Leslie you made it this far. :clapping::super:

Happy Birthday and congratulations on retirement! I am with Mud - take it and run - enjoy life to its fullest. - Jim

Way to go, Les! :super: Life is short and work is for people who don't have hobbies! Yep, take the cash before they run out

So now everyday is going to be Saturday. WTG. I remember when my first, "real" employer said, "you'll be able to retire in 2000" . Yeah right. It's been almost 14 years and it just keeps getting better.

Huge Congrats ! Times being what they are that calls for a celebration.
I've been retired since September 1, 2012... I turn 58 this October. Loving the time I get to detect.

Good for you!!!! I see so many web articles encouraging folks to wait and wait to build their nest egg. A lot of those folks never make it that far. I would rather have a few good years instead of taking that gamble, besides that, the older you get, the harder it gets to do anything. Use some common sense, pay down your debt, save as much as you can and get out of the rat race as soon as you can. Enjoy the few years you have left and peruse your passions. Happy Hunting
