On first reading your msg. I though you were talking about Garrett also. Little unclear there. On other hand, I would check out Garrett for all my repairs. Just a thought.

[size=large]the guy doesn't have a BA degree. and sounds like no PR sense. since your in Canada i'm guessing you went with him cause the cost of shipping to Garrett was way out of site? together with the cost of repair this guy was the better of the two choices? so maybe he thinks he has you over a barrel? is there a Canada Garrett center?

Not sure the difference of Freedom3 from my freedom2-plus , but I sent to garretts back in march I believe.Anyway they told me also old machine .not good chance of having parts,but send and they would do what they could. Well , got it back in couple weeks just like a new one. they had put 3 different electrical duma-datcheys in it and new faceplate. Was very happy. great service and service people. Just sayin might worth giving it a try. Mine wouldnt even power on when sent. Iam in USA so shipping wasnt issue. Good luck
