:canadaflag:dropping in to say hi

You got that right. For me, you just can not beat a beep and dig detector.
I have had some of them high dollar detectors before. They just were not for me.
I just like simple. All my Tesoros have paid for their self. Some many times over.

KISS : KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID KEN

I have one of those computers on a stick and just dont like the way those digital filters and processors sound . I'm an analog man . Its funny , but the two guys I hunt with using their digital machines will often ask me to check their target and see what I think .

I must say I've joined the club. Since purchasing my first Tesoro (a Mojave) last August, I've made some great finds and had more fun with the hobby than I've had in years. Recently sold my CTX-3030 and have no regrets. I've added a Tejon and a Vaquero to my Tesoro stable, plus some extra coils, and am waiting for the darn ground to thaw.

I also hunt with people who all have digital detectors and am ask to check some of theirs also. One would think us analog guy's would be asking them check our targets with their fancy machines.

Hang around more often.

I'm one of those guys who does have several of those more modern, digital circuitry devices, and I use them a great deal. But I don't just acquire any fancy-pants detector that wanders by, no way. They all get put up against several of my favorite analog Tesoro detectors in some comparison tests as well as side-by-side in a variety of hunt sites, because they have to prove, to me, that they have the performance ability to match or come very close to that which I get from my Tesoro units in some very dense, iron-challenged sites.

A good-performing non-display detector can still hold-it-own in a bulk of the hunting environments we take on. I hope you have favorable weather and are able to get out and enjoy some success.

I remember back in 2014 a buddy I hunted with got himself a Safari, and we headed out to an old isolated park I had discovered. I pulled at least 30 silver coins, rings and probably close to 1000 coins from that park. With Tesoros. So he wasn't having much luck, and after a couple of hours we meet up. He shows me his haul. Probably 10-12 coins, mostly pennies. He asks what I found, and it takes me two hands to hold all of the coins. He was dumb founded. So we hunted along for a bit, and I found another target, which I knew was a coin from the nice rounded tone. Smooth on, smooth off. So he scans it and it's just a barrage of sounds. You couldn't make out which of those tones was the coin. I'm sure with practice he could have adjusted it to not be so overwhelming, but he was discouraged. He ended up selling it and buying a Compadre off of me. I ran into him sometime later, and he commented how much fun he was having with the Compadre. He says "That's all you really need".

It's more fun to Hunt without a display. I do like some sort of Tone I.D. though and Modulated audio.
My two analog Detectors are My fave. I would have to keep those two if push came to shove. The digital I could live without as seem my other Two find coins including Big Silver the Digital missed.
