:canadaflag:Dig that would bring out the little boy in us all

Leslie(nova scotia)

From the land of the Bluenose.....after making a home brew of Tim's I headed out to a local park for a quick dig before the onslaught of my 5 night shifts of which 3 are time and a half. Man if I keep this overtime thing up I'll be able to go for month long vacation next winter or recuperate in a nursing home.

Not a bad day and the park/playing field was all mine without even a passing Canada Geese a honkling or doing the "dew."!

Have man handled this place on several occasions but it still produces the odd ring and a slew of coins. Umpire games here and make a point of taking rubbish off the playing surface usually in the form of beer cans which I throw into a bag then my trunk. At the price of gas these days every little bit helps. Bluenoser the Enviromental engineer at work!.Those bouys do enjoy the game but are really a great group to umpire.

Half way through my dig nature called. Unlike that bear in the bathroom tissue commercial I couldn't find the tree limb that had the Charmen on it and had to settle for leaves infiltrated with twigs. Mister man let me tell you after that espisode I felt like I was walking behind a novelty truck filled with itching powder that was leaking my way. Good thing no birds were "behind" me or they would have been dive bombing to get at the twigs I was "carrying" to help build a nest!

Went to the beach and washed up having buried the evidence and noted that the water wasn't have bad...............um I can feel a swish a coming if I ever have a day off.

A few more bell tones and the call came again. Must have been that Indian curry dish Kahanna made for me going the route so I headed behind the dumpster this time on my way to the outdoor loo and was greeted by this.

After a quick trip where I added enough twigs to my stash that an Osprey could have built a nest I explored the discarded toys. Man when I was a young boy I would have been in heaven with all those toys. It was a real sin to see them thrown out when so many children have nothing to play with and pretend...........

as I raced across the galaxy at warp speed

Great story and great finds!!!

No rest facilities in your parks? I was a scout leader for 12 years and we resolved that problem for the leaves of the striped maple or maybe you call it moosewood. It is next best thing to store quality products. Soooooo soft.

Make sure you don't use the shinny three leaf plant that grows low to the ground.
