From the land of the Bluenose.....have never done this before but the aching bones in the morning made me do it....and for the first time youz! Though I would get something back from my hobby other than the wonderful time swinging the Garretts with good buds.

Sold some silver and gold rings and brought a new mattress. First time I ever sold anything. Thinking about another detector or fixing a few of the old Freedom 3 Plus machines.

Somewhat feel like I'm betraying the hobby!

I do not think you betrayed the hobby. It doesn`t say anything in the metal detecting code of ethics about not selling your finds. How many rings does a person need? I wish that I had found enough stuff, so I could sell it, and make a few bucks for my effort. I can see saving something you found. Something you consider special. I know I will never get rich from this hobby, but I think many of us (me included) would like to have your problem. Keep up the great work.

If it don't fit me, or it is girlie and doesn't fit the missus, it gets dumped on the forums, or whoever offers up the right price...I do hang on to the better stuff sometimes...
