:canadaflag:Button hole: a "boar" so went for quota

My brother from another mother, Navy Davy did not want to come out this morning which could have something to do with the frost on the ground. Informed him that I was heading to the button hole then going after quota. Seemed like forever since I got my last quota fix. Darn work interferes with everything!

Arriving at the button hole I donned my gum rubbers, grabbed the shovel and decided for muck action the AT Pro would do the dew. My digging jacket had had a new patch added courtesy of Garrett who sent me it and Hunny Bunny who sewed it on. "Team Garrett" was ready to get down and dirty.

Mind you I had hinted to Garrett that a new hat would be nice but none was in the box when the Pro was fixed and returned.

After about 20 minutes of being "mucktissized" I had this feeling that someone was watching me........and there he was, Navy Davy in the flesh. We chatted for a tad and continued the assault on the muck. The button hole didn't seem to dry out much since our last attack but the buttons sure had as we both had little to show for our efforts. Did manage a big flat button with a "Boar" on it and the shank intact but not much else.

Decided to go to a field and get quota with ND heading home for the day.

Hit the same area as my last quota and snagged a very decorative button and quota in 3 hours 5 minutes. The muck had taken its toll!

Once home and cleaned up I had to do the "Monster Mash" on the parsnips, squash, potatoes and turnip as we are taking super up to Marie's parents. Working tomorrow so having Thanksgiving today. Oh joy!

You always manage to find a lot of nice things . Congratulations.

Seems like you had a good time Leslie.

I note your comment about Thanksgiving.

In Australia we do not have such a thing, mores the pity, but we have a Canadian friend at our Church.

So, yesterday (Sunday) we had Thanksgiving at her house, along with other Church friends ( 8 in total) and what a wonderful afternoon it was.

She told us the history of Canadian Thanksgiving and we had the traditional meal of Turkey and Pumpkin pie etc. (Lots of etcetras and all nice)

It really was a most pleasant afternoon and we did thank the Lord for all His blessings.

It's a great shame that we do not have such a celebration in Australia.

Congrats Leslie and Happy Thanksgiving up in the frozen tundra! (Not quite yet, but soon any way). George, the great thing about Thanksgiving is maybe you can start a tradition now since you've had your first "official" Turkey Day! God Bless.
