Last time I sent the pro in was roughly 4 months ago as it would not stop chattering.....this only occurred in the Pro mode. The standard seems to work okay. Great Garrett customer service last time fixed her up by replacing the coil reciever in the housing.............same symptons again this time. No chatter when the coil is removed on any mode so its not the coil . Took her apart cleaned all plugs, battery chamber and the battery holder.

Garrett never charged me last time (warranty was up by 2 months) save for shipping but each time I send it it costs me roughly $55 to send from this end then from the Garrett end another $30. So when I send it this time I will be out $240 plus whatever they charge me for parts and labour.

My Pro, which is my back up machine to the Freedom 3 Plus is only used roughly 2 out of 10 times I go detecting.

Anyone have any suggestions to this problem? Left the machine all apart in case of dirt and/or moisture got in............John in Edmonton any input?

Happy hunting all.

Check the connector where the coil attaches to the electronics. If moisture gets in there, you get lots of falsing. While the connector is off, let it dry for a while before you put the plug back in. Other then that, you tried all the other fixes and I presume you rebooted it to default mode. You might have to call Garrett and make some arrangements to have it repaired. I am sure they will look after you.
