From the land of the Bluenose.....misplaced my manual so here is todays not so bright question. How many bars down on the battery strength to you go before changing them? I'ze know 3 bell tones on the Freedom 3 Plus but the Pro doesn't sign to me when i turn it on. Tanks a tun youz!
According to the manual Change them when there is only 1 bar remaining. If the machine starts acting unstable at two bar I woul recommend a battery change at that point also.
The manual says change batteries when you get down to one bar, but I've read some posts that say it's important to avoid weak batteries so it may be better to change a little sooner. I haven't owned mine long enough to provide an answer based on experience. You can download a copy of the manual if you can't find yours.
[size=large]any time you need the manual you can go to KellyCo and download one for what ever machine you're running.great place to compare features and such.
i just noticed for the umpteenth time that the owners manual is posted at the top of the AT PRO forum page. duh!!
Leslie funny you should ask that question because I was thinking about that a few weeks ago. My battery was down to 1 bar. I went on a few more hunts on the one bar. Every time I turned it on it was up to 2 bars so I just kept using it. When the battery is no good anymore the detector just starts beeping and will not stop. I could not shut it off. I had to pull the batteries out of the detector to stop it from beeping. I put in a new set of batteries and it works fine. I would say one bar and not more than 4 drinks. Oh, sorry got side tracked. When you notice one bar maybe time to change.. ... HH ....Z
I have ran mine on 1 bar for a couple of hours. It seems that the audio gets a little weaker. But it seemed to still hit the targets. I then got scared and changed them out. So I will now change them out when it hits one bar.
Like KHOUSE said it gets slightly weaker after running on when it gets down to one bar. I did it till they died and like ZEEKEYS the detector goes nuts when they are finally done so I had to pull the battery pack out to shut the detector off. Put fresh ones in and WOW now it was loud so it will run a while on one bar on the batteries but be softer sounding so it's best to change them when it does get to one bar showing.
