:canadaflag:A Digger's Christmas Carol

Leslie(nova scotia)

Well-known member
T'was a few days before Christmas and alone in his abode
The Bluenoser sat dreaming about the lost mother lode.
Sipping his fresh cup of hot Earl Grey tea
Wondering if there was some place that he would rather be.

Marie was out shopping making cash registers sing
Spending enough money to ransom a Persian King.
Shopping in stores, boutiques and malls not fully aware
That the credit card bill would put her love in palliative care!

Reaching for his his trusty Garrett Freedom three plus
He was soon out the door without even a fuss.
Down the Bicentennial highway Nogo did prance
Near not even giving a backwards glance.

Now at the playing field swinging with detector in hand
The Bluenose had to dig in deeply and take his final stand.
For suddenly he was surrounded by not one dog but three
No doubt thinking his leg was a nifty place to take a pee!

One furry mobile manure maker barked loudly and so did the rest
The Bluenose stood his ground laughing as if it were a jest.
Bending down slowly extending his right hand to the pack
Giving each a rub carefully on the head, belly and back.

It was with utter bliss that the Garrett was returned to the swing
Rooting out relics, coins, bottle caps and all that sort of thing.
With quota in pocket, head held up high with a twinkle in his eye
The dig was complete and it was time to say his good bye.

May you have a God and family filled Christmas with the new year being filled with bountiful quotas!

That had me laughing. Good job on the carol and digs. Merry Christmas to you to.
