Hello all, any body know what soil mineralization is in Canada ? I live in Montreal, Quebec. I need to know what is the mineralization of the soil in Montreal, before i buy a metal detector...
Thank you all in advance !!

Welcome to the forums. The soil mineralization varies but where I have detected so far it's either moderate or heavy. My F5 shows mostly 2 or 3 bars alternatively almost all the time. Sometimes it will go to 4 bars (maximum) but rarely. Where the ground has not been disturbed by modern construction, it's usually hard packed blue or pink colored clay. It's hard to dig but at least the good stuff doesn't go down very fast.

What detector do you intend to buy ?

Your best bet is to join the Canadian Metal Detector Forum, google it. Can't put the link here.
Many of us are from Ontario and number in Montreal and other cities Quebec.
They will be able to give you more insight as to what works better there.
