Hi All,

Man what a day today was! I got 2 first and they are great ones. I was hunting the hole I got those coppers at last week and was finding the normal relics. This hole was there till about 1830 or so and covers about 10 acres all toll. I had been hunting around the hole for about 2 hours and was not getting to much.
I was standing on top a hillside about 60 feet from the hole and noticed that at the bottom of the hill there was a huge patch
of pricier bushes. Time to get a little bloody!!
As soon as I got in I started getting signals! Lots of lead and metal then I found this honey. My very first Fugio Cent in 15 years of looking!

The scan does not do the coin justice. You can see most of the detail just fine. A few days in the olive oil should help.

I started back hunting after dancing a jig and found a few relics that were pretty nice.

After moving about 50 feet in about a half-hour and loosing about a pint of blood I got a real good hit. It read 88 on my XLT and that meant it was a quarter or a can. Gratefully it wasn't a can this time. Nice Barber Quarter, a little rough but I love it! After putting the coin in my zip pocket I re-check the hole and got another hit! It was a coin purse. My heart started racing and I got to diggin. All toll I got 9 coins from about 5 feet around the purse. Another first!!

This was a day of 2 first for me. The Fugio and then the change purse. What a day!! After I replenish my blood supply I am going back for more!

Thanks for looking and HH,

Brian

Either of those finds are really, really nice. A friend of a friend found a Fugio last week and that is a pretty rare find in any part of the country. You got some good coins out of that change purse too, I bet you're glad you went in the prickers for that one. Good job and it just goes to show you, it pays to hunt where you don't think others have hunted. Ron
