Hi Folks!

My dad is heading to Hawaii for a couple of weeks and wasn't sure if it was legal to metal detect the beaches of Hawaii. Anybody know if you can? Any help or info is much appreciated!

Had no problems! Lots of tourists and fresh drops! Good luck

Hey, sorry to hijack this thread, but I'm from Hawaii too and was doing some research into metal detecting. If there's anyone who's friendly and wouldn't mind helping me out and stuff, let me know. =) I'm 27, local, and live in town. My email is dninomiya@hotmail.com

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but don't be fooled in to thinking that no one hunts in Hawaii at all. Two members of our Treasure club from Michigan were there Detecting last year and got asked a strange question. They asked them if they were with the morning crew or the evening crew??.
Yes the beaches do get hit hard there. Plus they rent Metal Detectors right on the beach!!! WOW!!.I was thinking about making a trip there next year, but decided it's not the place for me. The costs were just too high. Me and the the other half, are going on a cruise to the Caribbeans instead. I wish you luck with your Hunting in Hawaii, I just thought I'd give you the heads up.
