Okay..... Can you tell me the differences in the Safari, Se Pro and ETrac? I'm convinced for coin shooting Minelab is the way to go but it is very confusing about the differences in all the features. Some folks say all the machines are too slow others say they false alot. But ultimately, I just want a very good coin machine. It isn't the price issue that concerns me......it's not a huge difference in price one or the other. I have pretty good soil, I hunt in mainly more trashy places and I don't do any beach hunting. 90% coin shooter and very little relic hunting. Maybe it isn't none of these I need for my purpose...maybe something else? I am a pretty smart/techy kind of guy....I'm not intimidated by the technical if it's actually doing something. Some say the advanced features are just to give you buttons to push!? I just want some help with the differences..... My current detector is a T2 SE and its good but I'm thinking Minelab will separate good from bad better and go a bit deeper on coins? Thanks for your help. Brad

I am on break but if you do a search in the 3 relative forums you should find the info.

Or... Good, Better, Best and the Better and Best can be swapped depending on who you are talking to. Also least info to most info. Simplest to most advanced.

And do not forget the Sov GT

If money is not an issue you can eliminate the Safari.. You have never used an Explorer so you have no experience with the difference with the Smart Find screen and the digital screens.. I have a Etrac and an SE... I used Explorers for many years and still have a soft spot for the smart find screen.. With the remapping of the ferrous numbers on the Etrac, the Digital mode is best... on the SE I prefer the Smart find mode... The Etrac does run smoother and handles emi better but the SE is pretty good .. Handle angle is better on Etrac... Menus better on Etrac... Auto sens better on Etrac.. With Etrac you get both Smart Find and digital screens simultaneously ..On Etrac I run with Smart Find screen big, Digital small. Listen to tone, check conductive digits, check ferrous digits, switch to pin point watch cursor on Smart Find screen on deep targets to help determine if its a good target or iron ... On the SE using the Smart Find screen the cursor location shows you the conductive & ferrous values quickly & you already have a head start on where the cursor is jumping before switching to pinpoint... You are eliminating a couple steps in the target ID process on iffy targets.. When checking a lot of iffy targets I think I can do it faster & cover more ground with an SE..... Download both emulators and play with them and see which one you like best or better yet find someone that owns both and have them show you the good and the bad about each unit... Lots of good deals around right now on used SEs.. Have seen several for around $600, (be sure to get a Pro Coil) used Etracs are still bringing close to a $1000.. I usually leave a Pro Coil on one and a small coil on the other and grab which ever has the right coil for where Im hunting.. If you don't have any Explorer experience Id say you will be happy with the Etrac, and even if you you bought both and tried learning them both you would think the Etrac was better because it is easier to learn, but there really isn't much difference when it comes down to finding coins after to learn each one..... ..Did that make any sense? wildherre

Bummer - I hope you like the E-Trac.

I like the advise I saw on another forum though: If you're new to Minelab, order the SE - you'll love it or hate it but either way you'll never own an ETRAC. :heh:

Hope you like it bud. I use my explorers more than my etrac. It is a really good machine though.
