A suspected pipe bomb found in Parma on Wednesday tuned out to be part of a game.

Parma police were called to the area of State Road and Freehold Avenue, where the device was handing in a tree, at about 9 a.m.

Police said it closely resembled a pipe bomb so they called bomb technicians to the scene to destroy it. The roads were closed while the bomb squad worked, but they couldn

Why would there be any need for further investigation? Its a geocaching container, really shows how some law enforcement people are dumb as a rock. Ridiculous... so let me guess, they will ban geocaching next.

Strange that it was hanging from a tree branch in what seems to be easy sight. Maybe it was for beginner geocachers.

Man! Everybody must be on edge...if it was a geocache container, it was probably plastic PVC pipe with a cap on one end and a screw off top on the other right? Sheesh! I found al geocache box while out detecting in the woods a few years back, it was cool to read some of the entrys in the little notebook from other people who found it before me..

That is my thought. They already discovered it was used for geocaching. Stop wasting taxpayers money and move on to a real situation in the community. I'm sorry that does not look like a pipe bomb. It looks more like a 5th grade science project with brown tape. But just to be safe....

Police continue to investigate the incident and anyone with information should call the Parma Police Department Crime tip line at 440-887-7340.

I don't know all the details but yesterday Charleston SC police found what they thought was a bomb. Turned out to be a container of coffee creamer. For some reason I am not surprised that the police would thing a geocache was a bomb. The police usually does not know anything about geocaching. They suspect that everything is a bomb. Paranoia runs rampart.
