Can someone with a new vibraprobe 580 confirm the one I bought is supposed to be like this?

I recently bought a 580 that was supposed to be in Like New condition. When it arrived I noticed the tip looks worn through on one side and looks to be split in that area. I emailed the person i purchased it from and I was told that is the way the tip is made and that it is still like new because there is no wear showing on the foam grip... there is however scuffing down the shaft and as you can see in the pics I cant imagine the tip should look like this. Maybe I am wrong though and I am hoping someone who has a new one can tell me if this is normal or not ....thanks in advance...

Just put another tip cover on.

maybe i am mistaken but it doesnt look like a cover as it is glued. I assume it is the actual tip..

They advertised it as" like new." That is why I am always a little leery about buying something other than new by the dealer.I know it coast more. Good luck. How does it work? I was looking at them before I purchased mine

it works fine jim but you are correct in your thoughts....evidently my version of "like new" and this guys is vastly different.... I am just going to keep it and dip the tip in epoxy..He said I could send it back but then I am sure I would lose out on shipping.. Lesson learned! by the time i buy epoxy for the tip I could have gotten a new one directly from a dealer for another $20. I recommend anyone buying from a private individual make sure they show you plenty of photos and make them be very detailed about the items scratches,scuffs,etc...
