Can someone tell me which one of these coils would be best?

Well I am new to this site but it seems all of the sovereign users are on vacation at the other forum I usually frequent. So here it goes, I just got ahold of a sovereign elite. It came with 3 coils which include the 8" tornado, the 10" tornado and an 8" sunray intruder s-8. I hunt for old coins mostley and I do a little relic hunting. I know the 10" tornado stock coil will cover more ground for relic hunting out in the fields As far as the 8" sunray coil goes is it that much better than minelabs 8" coil? I have never used an after market coil and I know sunray makes great stuff but I cannot seem to find anything online about it and I would like to hear from someone who has experience with the 8" intruder. Go to the Sun-Ray forum and you will find some excellent field test results on the coils they produce. Bryce Brown who is the moderator on the Explorer forum did the test on the Sun-Ray coils as well as many other tests on different coils on his Explorer site. Hope this helps. HH

Tim,because you are new my suggestion start with the Tornado 800.The 7 1/4 inch coil gives great depth and target separation.The Tornado 1000 is a great all around coil greater depth better coverage,not as stable or light.I have used both the S8 and T800 the S-8 is a great coil but the smaller Tornado coil is the better coil.The Explorer and Sovereign coil comparisons are like apples and oranges.Good Luck with the Sovereign.
