Can someone post their experiences with the 10.5 DD Mid Freq. coil? Thanks.

I have the Xterra-70 and it is a fantastic coil! It is about 6 oz. heavier than the standard coils but the weight doesn't seem to bother me in the least. It will get the coins deeper and the tid seems more stable. Seperation in the trashy areas is the great thing about this coil. Pinpointing is easy to do: just locate the target and keeping the target in the middle of the coil, pull the coil toward you and as soon as the signal dissapears, turn the coil at 90

Is this the same coil (FBS1050) that comes with Exp II? It looks exactly the same except the stickers are missing, and would it work or would the X-70, not accept it?

Great post James. I've been wondering about this coil. I'll get one at Christmas with the short pole, then it will become a tough choice as to whether I take out the Ace or the X-Terra!
Not many folk have talked about this coil.
Cheers.:beers:

I was able to use it and increase the sensitivity with minimal falsing on our wet salt water beach. Will get it relic hunting soon. I also like the look of it on the detector.

I just put one on my Xterra-70 last weekend and had my best day in a long time. It is deeper than the 10x5 18.75Hz DD coil, maybe slightly deeper than the stock 7.5.
Good separation in trash is probably why I did well. I just pinpoint using the old locate and then swing it 90 degrees to the first direction. Line it up on a leaf or twig. Usually withing 3" dia. of the intersecting lines.
Everyone who has one seems to be pretty happy with the results.
