My uncle found this yesterday while metal detecting can someone please help us find out what it is. We are thinking a clamp of some sort. Any help would be great :) thank you.
 
um i'm sure its old. most people don't wear suspenders anymore. how old i have no clue :shrug:
 
It looks to be part of GI belt buckle. The US part should be hinged and clamps down on the canvas belt. The open style was worn with fatigues and the all brass one with a dress uniform.
 
That is the same Army Buckle that I wore in 1972-1979 while I was in the service. It holds up your pants. Nice Find...Jesse.
