Where do aluminum cans fall for # on the screen and can slaw. anyway to get rid of them. thankx

I don't remember the #'s but I dug lots of them today. First time out and digging everything that wasn't discriminated out.
The only way to get rid of it is to reject it on the pattern screen. But you run the risk of rejecting some gold items.

really depends on can slaw size but small stuff comes in low 2 to 10 CO and big stuff well it just sounds big and ugly on big stuff lift up coil it will still come through when lifting up coil.

Lower numbers...10-4, 11-6, 12-10.....depends on the size of the cabbage :)

Depends on the shape, size and how thick it is, comes in all over the place. Sometimes they come like a strong quarter signal. You can normally tell it is a big target if the whole can is in the ground or a long strip. You can eliminate digging some of that stuff just by experience and reactions the machine gives, but to eliminate totally. NOPE.

sometimes if i suspect a deep can after lifting the coil up but i want to make sure. i just cut a 6" or so plug and flip it over. Then i stick the pinpointer in the hole. if the pinpointer buzzes around the entire hole then i know its a can. then move on. lol.

Ok just a question, why would you NOT want to dig a target that might or might not be a can? If you already start digging it might as well find out what you have. How do you know your not over a metal top to a jar filled with coins? I have found some very nice toys, guns, cars, planes and other interesting things that I am glad I finished digging. That is not to say I haven't dug my fair share of cans also, LOL hundreds and hundreds of them.

Today I dug over 20 old pull tabs BUT I did also find a small womans 10K ring with a black stone. Two weeks ago I found a civil war bayonet and I am in Michigan. Just another point of view but I will dig everything till I find it. Would hate to pass up a cache!!

Nah im not that diehard. Just looking for silver coins and possibly some jewelry. I do this for fun not to "strike it rich". Thanks HH

I agree with Dr. Deus. I dig anything with a repeatable solid signal because you never know. You will surely miss your once in a lifetime jar of coins if you skip those deeper than expected hits. Yes, 99.9% of the time they turn out to be trash, but that .01% chance of them being a jar of coins keeps me digging them. Someone has to dig them, will it be you or me? I wish that the CTX provided a better tone (like the Deus) on the can slaw, but it doesn't and so I will dig them. My only advice is of you question a signal, better dig it then let it be, if you walk away from a target wondering, turn around and dig it up otherwise you will never know. Hope this helps.
