Can It Be Recovered Once Tracked Out ?

Once a weak signal is tracked out by the MXT Pro is there any way to recover it ? I have had situations where I would get a weak signal and push the "ground grab " immediately, but the tracking system on these MXTs is so fast that it tracks out the signial. Is there anything I can do to go back over the area and get the signial back ?

Do a manual GB and lock it.

Hi fsa46,

To me a whisper signal is a consistent raise in threshold that occurs in both directions. Less often a whisper signal will be consistent in only one direction. They are almost always without any VDI indication but rarely one will occasionally flash a, not so accurate, VDI number. The point is, to be a whisper signal, it MUST be repeatable.

I have heard a LOT more single, non-repeatable, rises in threshold than those that will repeat. Single, non-repeatable, threshold rises are false whispers.

If you have a target and hit GB don,t that balance the detector to the target? If you hit ground grab don,t that rebalance the detector? I don,t have a detector that has ground grab, but been reading about it on new MXT PROs. I would really like to know. Thanks Flintstone

Yes, that sets a new ground balance, hopefully tho, it will not be a ground balance point that had the "tracked out" target in it, or the target will remain tracked out...... the best thing to do as related to this post would be to rebalance the detector with no metal under the coil, then lock the ground before trying to pinpoint that whisper target.
