First Texas Holding ? From an investment standpoint, would FTH buy Fisher and put together a second class machine ? I would think that they are answerable to stockholders. I really think that beneath the exterior of the new Fishers, you will find some very innovative machines that will find a place in your line-up of machines. I think that with the proper management in place, your are going to see Fisher make some nice accomplishments in the detector community.
Just because GMC makes the Calvalier doesn't mean that I wouldn't buy a new Cadillac Eldorado, thinking that underneath the hood I'm getting the same thing as the Calvalier...This is just my thinking from a investment standpoint...I hope this is correct...
As far as performance is concerned, I would like to have some hands on for a month or so before I made a statement as to performance. I thought that the T-2 was unique in its appearance but with using that machine, I was totally impressed... most detectors share the same technology when it comes to certain areas. They may be designed by certain individuals but it is the individual "tweaking" that makes them different.... Thanks for letting me bend your ear....and sorry to ramble...Richardntn

NO businessman will put out a deficient product on purpose and take the company on a downhill spiral...It is all about MONEY and PROFITS..thats the bottom line...therefore to keep the stockholders/owners smiling the company will put out a competitive product. Granted it will not be the perfect machine...and lets face it there is NO perfect machine (i read the forums) that will satisfy half of you.

To criticize a product only because it looks like another one is not realistic....in that case none of the cars today are worth a plugged nickel since they all look alike.....

Wait until you push the new product around to make a determination whether or not its for you. Lets be fair...many of you wont like it no matter what because you are already biased against any thing new the new company will put out.

Lets wait and see, First Texas has been putting out sub-par products for years and making a fortune for their stockholders, focusing mostly on quantity instead of quality, going after the newbie detectorist with detectors that have a 40% factory return rate, that are serviced by an army of technicians working minimum wages.
We can only hope they"re picking up Fisher wasn't just for the name only.

If I'd wanted an F4 I could have bought one for $100 this summer from Radio Shack. Or I could have bought one from Kellyco under the Titan label for $380. Now I can pay $425 and get it under the Fisher label.

You know, I was ok until I saw the final product and did the comparisons. I didn't want a RS3300, and I didn't want a Titan 3000, and now I don't want a F4. For those of you that really liked the RS 3300 I'm sure you will love the F4. Especially with the DD coil. But for those of us that when we heard Fisher was going to release new machines, we were looking for new Fisher machines not repackaged and tweaked models from the existing T2 and Radio Shack models.

Like going to a restuarant and ordering Fettuccine Alfredo right off the menu and they bring you some other type of pasta covered in Alfredo sauce, then act suprised and get upset when you ask for the "Fettuccine".

I've gone on about it enough. Just bugged.

:lol:Richardntn,I work at General Motors, and we get a lot of critic's how we package a new product.First Texas appearance wise seems to be presenting a Cavalier, and telling you that underneath the hood is a Cadillac.Think about it this way,a commercial on TV runs shows a Cavalier going down the highway, and the ad is talking about the handling and performance and prestige of the new Cadillac.

Just as long as you keep those Bounty Hunter sticker's on you'll be fine. You may make FT a little nervous if you start looking for Fisher emblems.
Has anyone really tried an F4 or is it all speculation because the front of the F4 resembles a 3300?
All the complaints so far are speculation based on little more than a picture.

Hello Mike,

Things happen for a reason, Captain Jack shared this with me many moons ago and it does make sense

Jack asked a legitimate question, don't get so offended.Too many on this forum are beating up the poor poster and lecturing them on how they should react to the new FT product line.Eddie my next obvious question is how may people on this forum is employed by FT?

I have no idea what you're talking about or which of my posts you are responding to. I agreed with Jack's question and answered it. I saw nothing to be offended about and I don't see that I beat up anybody.

Or, are you talking about Mike's post? My suggestion about not buying an F4 if it upsets him is hardly beating him up.

If you're responding to a poster's statement, quote the statement in your post so we know what you're talking about.

I guess we'll just have to wait to see if the new machines are great or mediocre. They could be world beaters, but only time will tell. One thing I'm sure of is if the F4 is just a little sturdier Discovery 3300 with a different coil, a lot of folks are gonna be p.o.'ed. I bought the last two my Radio Shack had for $49 each. Great deal. But if they're the same as the $425 F4, I got a super deal and the F4 buyers got screwed. Same with the F75. For the additional buck fifty or so it costs over the T-2, it better have more than cool stickers. I'm hoping the new Fishers are super machines. If not, in the future they'll just get lumped into the Wallyworld junk catagory. Bye bye to a legend in metal detecting.

It's far more than being just a little sturdier than a 3300.

Yes it's true that they share the same basic circuit, but that's where it stops. Little by little as the weather permits I have been posting how the F-4 has been performing for me. Just look around the post already here.

Not only is it far stronger, it's recovery speed is considerably faster. It doesn't crap the bed every time you push the pinpoint button like it does on the 3300. Full notching & discrimination. No motion pinpoint. Silent search all metal mode along with threshold based all metal mode with auto tune. Silent search discrimination mode.

Depth is a hard thing to compare to, but it appears it has the edge over my 3300. I don't think users will have any problem finding coins at the 10" range. Readers need to realize this depth is in my ground, things do change from place to place.

The 3300 feels like a toy, the F-4 doesn't.

Mr. Bill

PS: There on the way, would you like me to send you one ?

Glad to hear the F-4 is vastly superior to the 3300. Good info Bill. And by all means feel free to send me one.
