Can I safely use my V3i charger #802-5285 for these?

I bought a used but really nice IDX Pro and inside the battery pack were these rechargeable AA's. I use it for tot lots (w/6" coil) and competition hunts as well as a loaner. Guess I got better deal than I thought when I discovered these were rechargeable, when I opened the pack last year I didn't have my glasses on! The pack still measures 9.8 volts after sitting with minimal use for a year+. My V3i NiNH charger I think is compatible. I was about to dig in an research then I realized this question has probably been answered. Duracell
AA / HR6 / DC 1500 NiMH / 1.2 V 2450mAh
Got planted club hunt Sunday so I was getting my stuff in order and these batteries are a nice find!

Thanks & HH

worked great in my v3i i have the 2400 duracell batterys in my alkaline battery pack that i modified to work in the whites battery charger

Thanks. What mod did you have to do? They are a tight fit found them in the alkaline pack. I was just going to drop the pack into my charging station but now I missed the extra contact point  Looks like I may get the proper charger for the Duracell AA's.

The stock rechargeable battery pack has a thermistor that allows the charger to see a certain voltage and turns off the charger at a certain temperature. I think Rob or Larry posted a while back on how to build a rechargeable pack and there has been past articles showing the part number to the thermistor. I think if you do a quick search it should come up, or either one of those guys will write in.

Rob is the master of battery mods but Bruce has the best idea IMHO............ get the right charger for the Duracells.

Here is an old post. Very easy to do. Sliding the thermsistor will fine tune the final charging voltage.

Those links won't work with the charger he want's to use.

I start stocking up on batteries this time of year (48 AA, a few of 9v. AAA's etc). Besides the detectors & pinpointers I use 2 way radios that take 3 AA each. I'll grab the right charger and hopefully cut my costs. I adjusted the power setting for my V3i wireless HP but it still eats through a set every 10 hours.
