I got the day off work today and was wanting to go hunting but didn't know if it would be a good idea so do any of you do this or approve of it
Thanks
Nesdore

Yes you can. But it will be muddy in some places.

Ok thanks didn't want to tear up the ground but just wanted to ask around first thanks again

Why's that Neil

I find I get much better depth in wet ground. I like to put a baggie over my detector and hunt in the rain, mostly because nobody is out there to bother me. This doesn't include pouring rain! Just make sure you don't make a big mess where you dig. There is a difference between wet and muddy. Use a drop cloth to put any dirt you remove from the hole on so you don't leave a muddy mess making it obvious where you dug.

I actually went in between showers for about 20-25min nothing to brag about dime a penny about 4 pop tabs and a piece of wire but I got to dig made me happy lol :detecting:

Just wipe your shoes before you come in. Last time you trekked mud all over the house. I am not cleaning up the mess this time. DON'T YOU GIVE ME THAT FACE! YOU GO TO YOUR ROOM YOUNG MAN!

Amen! LOL

You can hunt if you want too. KEN. Ind

Good thing to know about the depth when the ground is wet. I have been wondering about that.

wet ground might be a good time to use a little more disc. to eliminate the bad targets and lessen the chance of making a muddy mess.

Around here after a real heavy rain we scoop up the silver coins that float to the top of ground with fish nets. There's not as many as there used to be though :cool:jk

Well the rain must've been a good thing for me although I didn't find anything spectacular I had the best day of metal detecting as far as im concerned I found more coins today than I had found ever ( ive only been detecting for 3 weeks now lol) its the small victories :wiggle:
