Can I hear some discussion on mineralization?

I hear the term "high mineralization" over and over, and must admit that I wouldn't recognize it if I was standing on it. What's the giveaway that you're on it, and how do you adjust for it.
I live near Valley Forge and have no way of telling before hand whether or not it is or may be a problem.
Perhaps it's a challenge that I'm facing in my Explorer learning curve and don't even know it.

Fred with the xs and DD coils your all set pretty well, if you take a different unit with a concentric coil into an area and givin no electrical wires above or below ground and many just flat go whacky in bad ground(minerals) and really need to be run in low settings to settle them down...with those lower settings most depth was all but lost well with the advance of the XS and other units now going DD coils has been able to help us all out with many units we like but that could not fair well in real bad ground. You couls still hit an area where in the settings your running fine then it may get a little scary....but for the most part just move are and see if it's a small area then maybe lower the sense some also. But thats my take from my use with whites-fishers and xs and a few other units I have and have used.....hope it helps ya some
