Can anyone tell me how good the Lobo is for coins and general hunting?

Have heard they are really good on coins and jewlery. I don't do that much gold hunting, so would be using it around parks, beaches and old home sites. How is the depth and any other info would be appreciated.

Hi Prospector, that is what I like about the Lobo Supertraq, it is a great gold machine but if your gold finds are a bit slow it is just as at home coinshooting. I just use the elliptical coil on mine and seem to get reasonable depth. I think if you were to put the 9x8 coil on the depth should be really good. I just installed the 10x12 DD coil on my Lobo but have not had time to try it yet. But you can tell when you have a possible coin under the coil because the tone gets really sweet. Sometimes it's junk but it is a coin getter too! Ok good luck and enjoy.

in less you are getting a heck of a deal the Super would probably over kill(more machine than you need) for coin hunting.
if you need ground balance go with the Vaquero.

Just my 2cents.:pulltab:

When I had one I never did use it for prospecting. Just coin shooting. Worked okay for me.
It costed me just three hundred buck.

Pulltab is right. Much more than you need for coin hunting. I used the ST for about 6 years on ever thing.
The "V" would be lighter and that helps. I like Manuel GB because you can set it up more on the plus side
if you want to. I use the Tejon now. I use it with the 5X10 elliptical coil most of the time. I got use to it on
the ST. Just my thought.
