Over the years, I've picked up a few buttons that are just like these. Some larger, some smaller. The big one here is about 3/4 inch and the smaller about 1/2 inch. Any ID would be appreciated.
Thanks

I found a button a couple years ago just like the top one in your photo. Spent hours researching it and heres what i found:
Its a button used on a golfing sport coat that you wore around the course and clubhouse. The design is from the Royal Blackheath Golf Club in London. The figure on the left is supposed to be Rev. William Marsh, chaplain of Morden College in Blackheath; the plant on the right is a thistle; the crown of England is on top; two golf balls on the bottom and a pair of crossed golf clubs makes the big "X" in the middle. Never did figure out what the symbols around the outside were. No info on how old the button is either, sure would like to know.
Not sure what the other button is. My best guess would be the design is country seal possibly. Looks like a lion and a deer? Crown on top of circle looks european, English??
Hope this helps.

"Got you"... I really like the second one. I think the balls are too big to be golf balls. I would like to think that they are small cannon balls and the 2 rods are the loading sticks. The animal is too large to be a rabbit. North wind tomorrow, but not probably going to be enough. Nice finds.

possibly a secret guerrilla warfare division disguised as golfers.... ... do you beach hunt ??? ...do I know you ???
