any ideas for any car rental companies or airlines that offer REALLY GOOD discounts for military families. I am trying to get my daughter and son in law down here from Ft. Riley Ks for a few days at Christmas holidays. He is getting a few more days leave because he has been told that his unit is going baack to Iraq a few months earlier than expected. The airline tickets and even car rentals are really pricey that time of year. We are still looking around to see what best deal we can get. Thanks for the help.

I did a little searching around...

Call Budget car rental and see what they offer. I found two military type webpages that mentioned Budget gives up to a 25% discount on rates / mileage. Make sure you call as soon as possible though. The closer you get to the holidays, the harder it's going to be to GET a car; let alone a discount. Since I would think it's a busy time of the year for them, don't be surprised if they don't offer a discount at that time...

I would just call them and the others like Alamo, Hertz, Avis and ask about discounts.
