can anyone help me idenify this item

This is an image of what seems to be a business man, standing with a cane or a umbrella or maybe a sword. Not sure if is carved in lead or stamped. I believe it may be lead because a magnet will not stick to it and it does not clean up like brass. Found it near a old house built in the late 1700's.

Because it is so glossy, it is hard to tell what it might be. Maybe you should try placing some lightweight paper over it and use some pencil lead trace over it to see if you can bring out an image which might be more recognizable. When I read the description, I first thought it might be come type of mold, but after looking at the image, it looks more like something used to make impression in clay or pottery.
