It stands 12" high and is 3" across.

do a google search. type in selters jug and click i'm feeling lucky. it shows your bottle.
 
I think you should check out the Selters corporate website. I do not speak German, but it looks like the company was started in the late 19th century. If you click on "HISTORIE" you will see a similar cask.

Is this a dug find, or did you acquire this in another fashion?
