Like did you use a 10x loupe to look for markings?

Sometimes good jewelry (real gold, real silver) doesn't even have markings.

I cast jewelry, gold and silver, as a hobby and rarely mark it. There are a lot of hobby jewelers and custom jewelers (like me) that don't always stamp karat ratings in their pieces.

Don't discard any of it. Heck, you can pick up cheapie gold and silver testing kits that aren't super accurate (karat rating wise) but should tell you if any of those pieces are gold or silver.

You could have some nice pieces in there and not know it. I hope you do.

thanks
yes i have looked real close. anything that was even sort of close, i have tested. both silver & gold & lucky for us water can really take a toll on cheap jewelry. there are lots of mood rings in there, a few stainless laser cut & other misc type metals.
i do have all the good stuff separated. there is one in there that looks gold. but a quick scratch test tells ya otherwise.
