Can anybody tell me if the Explorer XS has to be modified in any way to accept the WOT coil? I have

an Explorer XS and recently received a WOT coil as part of a package deal when I purchased a used detector. I would like to try the WOT on my XS, but I think I read somewhere on this forum that the upper shaft has to be modified. Is this true, and if it is, can you just purchase an already modified shaft to accept this coil, and from whom can it be purchased? If anyone can give me the skinny on this question, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!! ~Larry~
 
Hopefully your WOT has the right connector for the Minelab XS. If so you should be good to go. Many users obtain another LOWER shaft for the extra coil to make changing coils VERY easy. The only other thing that you may want to consider is a simple modification to the WOT to shaft mounting that makes the big coil more stable...that you'll find on the MODIFICATION FORUM (with a picture no less)
 
dont try and use a sovereign or musketeer WOT.. no mods need for the rod as far as I know
