Just tried out a Super 12 coil on my DFX in the woods, but every time the coil comes in contact with a branch, bush, or whatever, I get a squealing sound. I'm using the beach and jewelry mode. Awfully difficult to swing without some contact. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi, Try another mode. Like coin/jewelry mode, or even just coin mode. Reduce (or increase) your sensitivity to 68, Pre Amp to 2. Do this just to see if the coil is defective. If it is not squealing, then increase Pre Amp to 3 and Sens to 69. You may be over powering that coil. When you set your controls and are ready to hunt, stop and look at the screen. While still, there should be no chirping or icons flipping on the screen randomly. If they do, you are running it too HOT. If nothing helps, call whomever you bought it from, explaining what you have done. It may be defective. Hope this helps. HH
