CAN ANY one tell me were rings or at on the 1500

The simple answer is anywhere on the screen. But, here's the breakdown:

Silver Rings- Read at about where the coins read, as they are made out of silver.

Low K Gold ie 10K - Read close to the coins again, especially if the gold is mixed with copper.

High K Gold ie 14-18-20-24K - Read at about the nickel or pulltab area. As a rule, the higher the Karat, the lower on the screen, but that may vary depending what the gold is mixed with. Very thin gold bands can also read even lower then the nickel-pulltab range. On Garrett machines, gold rings tend to give off a nice smooth soft sound. Pull tabs give off a more harsh sounds. You learn to distinguish sounds after a while.

Hope this helps..... :)
