I want to first say thank you to everyone on here...This forum is so infomative. We are all supporting one another and giving advice. Ive only had my ace 250 for two months. Im driving my wife nuts I think because every week I keep ordering accessories.....Ive read some posts on here that some people can hunt in the winter.....Unless the ground is soft, how is that possible ? Do you guys go out with a backo ? LOL.
Happy Hunting Everyone.

I know a few folks on here hunt sledding hills in the winter. You'll find a few posts on that already.

I do more hunting in the fall, winter and early spring. As long as the ground isn't frozen and the sun is shining and at least 35 degrees I'm good to go. Some positives for me is less or no insects. Grass and weeds are thinned out or dead and no sweat dripping on my glasses. I even hunt the fresh water beaches. The only down side for hunting beaches when it's cold is not hot women running around. Other than that it's great!

Gotta love Florida - treasure hunting year around with plenty of eye candy.

:beers:

What's to stop you. A lot of folks hunt in the winter. Our own John from Edmonton hunts in the snow regularly and finds a ton of stuff, especially on the sledding hills.

Oh Yes= I probably hunt as much in the winter as I do in the other seasons-I'm in Indiana, usually at around 20 degrees i slow down somewhat, but have on times hunted at around 0- 10 - degrees for a short spell, detector sometimes gets balky below bout 30 degrees or so, sometimes i hang the box inside my coat so it works better and I don't drip m' nose drippins on it, yup, can do detectin in the winter if yer not a WUSS:garrett:

That's too cold for me! Got to be at least 35 degrees and sunny. Sometimes we'll get a 45 to 50 degree day or two and man that feels good...

You got that right no bugs no weeds and no mean hot weather...

Remember salt water beaches never freeze and sldding hills and even ski areas with lifts and gloves coming off and on can provide rings with fingers shrinking in the cold weather....
All about attitude but do dress warm and headphones are great earmuffs...

there are many states where we hunt year round. Texas is usually pretty nice in the winter months as is florida and some of the other southern states.
