Can A DFX detect dime at 18" ?

There is a DFX for sale on an auction site and the guy claims that he has detected a dime 18' with it. Under the absolute best conditions, with ANY available coil, is this at all possible? Or is this another fish story.

I would believe a quarter at 12+ inches on a white sand beach, I have dug many, but a dime at 18" sounds a bit much to me.

n/t

Yeah, very unlikely. With a big coil it might be possible, but it is rare such a big coil is usable due to trash.

You can find a dime at 18 inches. IF the soil is right. With that said the condition of the soil (mineralization) has to be right AND the operator has to really know the machine. Again with all that said 98% of the people detecting could not do it. Because of the soil and not knowing the suttle ( different tones) of the machine. Now I know I'm going to take some heat but that's OK.

You are all WET, don't know about the DRY.HH

You know...if you have a detector than can find a dime at 18" then WHY in the world would you want to sell it?

I have six detectors --- Four of them "White's" ---- have searched parks, schools, beaches, etc for 30 + years. A dime at 18"? NOT LIKELY!

Not even the mighty Nautilus could achieve that with a 15" coil.........pure rubbish.
