can a Cortes owner do a coin test for me?

I tried this test with my Etrac and it failed...heres the test--disc out tabs and put a square pulltab or round pull tab on top of a 3 inch cup (glass or paper) and then place a dime 6 inches away from cup on the floor...sweep your cortes over the tab then the coin and see if it reads the coin...thanks for your help

Tried it with square tab. No dime signal if coil is swept straight from one to the other. But get a dime (#95) signal if I make a tight zig-zag from one to the other. Jabbo
