You got to love getting off work at noon!! It don't happen to often so I took advantage of it. My friend and I drove back to the camp site and hunted for a good while. The take for the day was 8 French buttons ,a nice Crucifix(not sure how old) ,three coins ,25 dropped musket balls and other odds and ends. Man ,I had fun but the time flew by. I am gonna hit a couple of fields tomarrow and try again. Thanks for looking and HH.

and the other relics. It's obviously a great site you have there, lots of interesting things. I alsao notice that you have a chinese coin, bottom photo, top left of it. Is that normal to find one for the type of site you are detecting? Tells me there were either chinese there, or the coins was given to the guy who owned it. If you clean it, and post a close up of both sides, I can date it for you. I just need to see the chinese characters on it.
Angela:)

Angela,I thought that was a Chinese coin also but its a very thin coin that someone punched a square in the middle. I guess they were just bored?

Nice digs birdman, real nice. If you clean the buttons up, repost a pic. Good hunting, David@Dixie
