Camera-- camcorder

What is everyone using to record their hunts? What is the best bang for the buck? I want to get a camera that I can easily use for a detailed view of digging a target, as well as having a crisp, clear still photo feature for the close up views. I was thinking of the go pro hero 3, but I've heard it has a lot of bad bugs in the firmware. I also would like to try to stay around $200 if possible.
I have also debated getting a Sony camcorder with 32X zoom for around $200. I"m just not sure how well I can video a hunt with something of that nature. Any thoughts are appreciated.

if youre talking about filming while detecting...the Go Pro is the only one i am aware of that will do this ...and i think thats because of the gizmos they have to secure the movie camera to your body while youre hunting...
Of course many cameras can also film. If youre talking about still pictures , there are any number of cameras priced between 100-200 that will take moving picture and still pictures AND will take extreme close ups if necessary of your found treasures...thats the Macro feature on most cameras....
you probably know all this

For mding you are going to want a camcorder that is at least somewhat weatherproof. A camera with a moving lens would not be a good idea due to the dirt/dust getting caught in the motor over time. Zoom is not really important for mding videos. Macro, however, is important.HH and GL

Get a Kodak Zi8, has stabilization, macro, video, still shots, and I believe it's waterproof. Look it up, I have the Zi6, but it doesn't have the stabilization mode........nge
