............Did not sell it. I was going to sell it since winter is here and no detecting in near future most likely. Then in the Spring buy a CTX ..... Guy said he wanted it, and even though by then I was having second thoughts anyway, it was with heavy heart I boxed it up...

Next day guy said his wife threw a fit, and would it be ok if he backed out... Oh Yea..It was fine.........I was happy even... and glad my "Best Ever" Silver finding machine was staying home...

I may, or may not buy a CTX in the spring. ..I know their different..but I'm just not sure it could do any better at finding more Silver.Or for that matter with any other detector I might have purchased.

Anyway My Baby's staying here.......all unpacked.. and waiting for warmer weather.. It's nice to own a detector you believe in, and are happy with... Just thought I would share the story... if you haven't found that special machine yet..I hope you do soon.

If the ground isn't frozed you can hunt. Just put more clothes on. I do a lot of hunting in the Winter.

Where as I truly enjoy metal detecting I have never been a die hard .... My idea of detecting is when I have time, a nice warm morning
just meandering along digging the targets as I hit them... Detecting in the cold has never been my forte ........... it isn't something I enjoy.

I use detecting for relaxation, and some what as an exercise experience. I have never reached the level of detecting everyday for weeks on end..Or traveling great distances for plying the hobby.

I appreciate all you guys and Gals who do in fact indulge a great deal..I also enjoy reading about your experiences, and viewing your great finds... There is no right or wrong in my opinion with how one enjoys their hobby..it's all about ones self, and what they like in any hobby.

I do read about, learn the machines, trying my best to find the most in my time spent detecting though. LOL .. I always experiment with new machines, and accessories too. Different coils etc...

Metal detecting is, and has been for years my most enduring hobby... I never get tired of detecting. I always keep detecting each year ... and enjoy it as much now as I did the first time many years ago.. "NO" other hobby has lasted as long, or given me such pleasure. Though I must admit I do like swinging a golf club now and then...

I also enjoy being a part of this Forum, and having interaction with all you other detectorists.......... Your as much a part of the enjoyment as the detecting.. Thank you all !!!

So Kenny enjoy digging in the snow. Hope you always find good things, and hope you always stay part of this forum... Your one of the good guys !!

I've owned dozens of detectors over the 34 years I've detected and must say nothing has come close to the E-TRAC ! Mine is like my favorite dog or gun that I've owned. With that said, I purchased a 30/30 CTX last September and have done great with it but still love my E. She's just been so good to me . Ive found that the 30/30 is pretty much a "luxury" E- Trac with alot of bells and whistles that I don't use . The main difference is that it's WATERPROOF ! No worries about dropping it in the gulf or sudden rain storms . So now my E-Trac is my backup machine but OH what a backup she is !

A man after my own heart & I couldn't have said it better myself!-----Ole King Etrac is like that VERY comfortable shirt hangin in your closet or those VERY comfortable shoes that you ain't about to get rid of.----Yeah, I've got the CTX but getting rid of the Etrac would be like shooting my favorite dog in the head---it ain't gonna happen!-----I'm not gonna "insult" the E by just leaving him in the closet though, he's been too good to me not to still use (right alongside the CTX).----Why??--Because we've got a "relationship"-------Truth of the matter is--if it wasn't for my old bum right arm nowadays, there wouldn't be anything to talk about--it would be King E all the way.-----For me personally (after a tree trimming accident), that's the one "problem" with the Etrac---the balance issue (and no, I can't STAND bungees).----The CTX does excel in this regard (balance).-------Tell you what tho----I still can & do swing "The King" a couple of hours a day on hunts & Lord willing, that's going to continue.---------Del

Well it's got to be Sunny and around 40 before I go. There are a lot of 50+ degree days in the Winter here in Missouri. Especially the last few years.....

but mostly frozen ground and blowing snow with darn cold temps..
