Came over to the dark side....lol

I just wanted to introduce myself...I've been swinging a MXT (fine machine) for the last three years...but decided to come over to the "dark side." My handle is FIREWXMAN...and I'm the newest E-trac owner! :clapping:

I can't wait to learn from you all!

Good to hear you got a E-Trac as it is quite the detector if you take the time to learn and understand it as it will be different then your MXT which to me is a fun detector to use and one of my favorite Whites of all times. The E-Trac will give you more info and let you decide what to dig and what no too.

Good luck and hope to see you post some great finds with your E-Trac.

Rick

Hey thanks Rick...

I look forward to reading and seeing your finds...any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Your going to love that machine. Get Andy's book if not already and read it then read it again. You will have to train yourself to slow down coming from a mxt. I have the mxt also and learning the Etrac was not so bad. The first few times with the Etrac it looked like I was using a weed eater. You will learn it as we all have.

Welcome!!! Congrats on your new machine, and best of luck on your hunts.
I'm an Etrac newbie also...just got it last Friday. This winter will be the longest ever:sadwalk:

Welcome from another E-Trac rookie. Learning quick though and it's looking great!

Welcome!

Seems to me you already have a good hunting buddy, lucky you. Looking forward to reading of your adventures and watching video of your hunts.

Welcome to all you newbies any questions fire away. Your going to love this machine and the many different ways it can be set up for different spots. Good selection of coils available for it too.

Just set GROUND to DIFFICULT and TRASH to HIGH use preset coins pattern noise cancel it and go hunt you'll learn what other settings to change (raise them higher) over time.

Hey thanks to all...and welcome to all the other new owners as well!

firewxman, I just bought an E-Trac tonight. I've been swinging an MXT Pro for about 1-2 years myself. We sure have had a few nice days latley, but my pro is at Whites getting repaired so I've had to use my daughters Titan200XD...man what a difference. Cant wait to get my pro back, but I'm even more excited for the E-Trac to get here. Hopefully the wx holds out and the ground stays fairly thawed.
I know that the Trac will have a bit of a learning curve, but it sounds like it might hit the deeper silver.

Just picked up an E-Trac on Saturday and I am excited and can't wait to take it out for a test run. I'll let you know how I did as soon as the ground unfreezes!

No dark just light you find out what you have been missing the etrac is simply the best bar none!!

Welcome firewxman and congratulations on your new machine. You will like it very much, of that I am sure. The E-Trac is an extremely capable machine and it is very fun and easy to learn and use. If you have any problems or questions on getting started with it, there are a lot of people on here who enjoy helping others when they have questions (myself included). Some say there is quite a learning curve to this machine but honestly there is not. Put it in stock programs, rack up a bunch of hours and you will be digging the good stuff in no time (from some stupid depths might I add). I am not the type to bash any other brands, as I feel most machines have their place, but for versatility, easy-use and quick results, you have one of the finest machines currently on the market. Please keep us informed on how you are getting on and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them any time. I for one really enjoy sharing my experience with others and I know many of us on here feel the same. Please post your finds along the way if you get that chance as these posts always motivate everyone else to push themselves a little bit harder. Welcome again and HH -Marc

running the e-trac becomes better and better, just tell everyone else in your area that it's not worth it though LoL
